Good Progress

I’ve completed the re-read and edits of Chasing Portals. While I ended up editing more than I anticipated, I made no fundamental plot changes. I cleaned up a couple of minor inconsistencies and greatly improved the flow. If you’ve already read the book, you won’t be missing anything by not reading the new edit, except a more pleasurable reading experience.

I also created a character index to track the physical characteristics of all characters. This is something I should have done during the initial draft. It will be an invaluable tool to help me keep character details straight going forward.

I’m now going through the same editing exercise with the 19 chapters of Hunting Blood I’ve written. I’m currently on chapter 2. My goal of having the book completed and edited by late summer may be a little ambitious, but I’ll keep moving at a steady pace and see where I’m am in a few months. I still plan to publish the revised edition of Chasing Portals concurrently with Hunting Blood.

Fun fact: The image for this update is an AI generated depiction of Vladrik’s dagger. AI did a great job of capturing my vision!

I’ll provide another update once I’ve completed the edit of the 19 chapters of Hunting Blood and ready to start on new material. I’ll also provide an advanced look at a possible revised cover for Chasing Portals.
